The 2A3 is a three-electrode, high vacuum type of power amplifier tube or valve for use in the power-output stage of A.C. operated receivers.
The 2A3 has also been used on HI-END amplifiers with stunning results.

The exceptionally large power-handling ability of the 2A3 is the results of its design features. Among these are its extremely high mutual conductance and its large effective cathode area.
