Myers RAC-3 boxed GBP 375 pair.

Marconi V24 GBP 200.

Marconi Q GBP 250.

Description

This section covers three obscure valves from the 1910’s including the Q type first UK made valve.

Pair of Detector Amplifier Oscillator triodes (reported on carton)  type RAC-3 to be used in early battery receivers. It has double ended construction and it is a bright emitter. Made by Elman B. Myers  in Jersey City, N.J., but later in time Myers moved his works to Canada under the name of Myers Audions. Nice to see how the anode and positive filament are located at one end in red where the grid band the negative filament are marked in black on other end.

Marconi-Osram type V24 is also a bright emitter, launched in 1919!. You can clearly see there is a single hair of tungsten filament spanning from cap to cap with a provided spring . Such a valve was held in place by the appropriate valve holder.

Finally the Q valve made by Marconi first UK made valve! Comes with wire mesh and has a single thin filament strand like the above V24.

All valves tested for filament and appear  to be all in working order.
